Ask a question

No question about this software is too basic. If something on the screen does not match what a lesson says, that is our problem to fix, not yours.

Where to send it

Email help@officeguide.example and we will read it. If your question is about a specific lesson, paste the address of that page from the top of your browser so we know exactly which words confused things.

What to include

  • Which program you were using, and roughly which version if you know it.
  • What you were trying to do, in your own words — not the technical name for it.
  • What you clicked, and what happened instead of what you expected.
  • The exact words of any message on the screen, if there was one.

A photograph of the screen taken on a phone is perfectly good, and often clearer than a description.

Before you write, two things worth trying

First, close the program and open it again — a surprising share of odd behaviour ends there. Second, check the glossary; a lot of confusion turns out to be one unfamiliar word rather than a broken computer.

What we will not do

We will never ask for your password, your bank details, or remote access to your computer. If any message claiming to be from us asks for those things, it is not from us. See our privacy page for what we do and do not keep.
